*This position is expected to work Monday-Friday with hours TBD and does require some on-call duties on a rotating basis. Schedules are subject to change based off the needs of the Hospital and the Department. Training Days/Hours TBD**
*This position will pay $22-$32 hourly DOE*
**At least ONE YEAR of experience is required to be considered for this role!** **CVT/RVT Required!**
Overall Responsibility: The Surgery Technician supports three board certified surgeons and the related patient care of surgical cases. The surgery team is a dynamic group within an ER and Specialty Hospital that has a busy caseload of elective and emergency procedures. The surgery technicians participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. The Surgery Technician assists with various surgeries including soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and other advanced surgeries.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Skill Requirements: Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs.Ability to think quickly and react in stressful situations. Excellent patient care standards and advanced technical skills. Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately. Excellent communication. Handles stress well and keeps a positive attitude.
Minimum Qualifications: Four years’ work experience as Veterinary Technician and two years must include Critical Care/ICU or surgery/anesthesia. Must be registered in the state of Colorado as a Veterinary Technician or be able to become registered upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications: 2 years ofVeterinary Technician work experience running anesthesia in a Specialty Hospital with board certified surgeons.
Educational/Professional Requirements: Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology. Veterinary Technician certification preferred.
Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending. It also requires routine lifting and restraining of animals in excess of 50 pounds.
Interacts with: All areas of the hospital.
